Uzungol Lake Tour
Description
Uzungol, which means "long lake" is Turkey's most beautiful lake, located in the Trabzon province. A little slice of Switzerland in Turkey's Black Sea region, Uzungol's picturesque view features a lakeside mosque and high green mountains on all sides. There are numerous easy hiking trails in the surrounding hills. Here you may be lucky to spot a Eurasian lynx, roe deer, badger, or one of many various species of birds of prey. The tour will begin with a pick up from your hotel in Trabzon.
From Trabzon, we will travel to Uzungol, which takes approximately one hour.
As you travel from Trabzon you will visit a tea factory. This factory offers a look at the way fresh tea is grown and harvested, here you will be able to buy fresh tea to take with you. Following the hectic life of tea makers, you will visit the Surmene knives and gift shop. Here you will see the hard work of master craftsman of the Surmene region and their handcraft blades. These blades have been forged, folded, twisted hammered and repeated until a unique blade is finished.
After lunch, you will be free to discover the Uzungol area by yourself. You may like to rent a pedal boat on the lake or follow one of the hiking trails for a chance to see some of the impressive local wildlife.
