A province in the north-west of Turkey, home of Stunning mountains standing tall over calm, serene lakes.
Once part of the Hittite Kingdoms where it became an influential city amongst the different regions. During the Roman era, it was renamed Claudopolis after the Emporer. During the Seljuk period, the province was overthrown by the Ottoman Empire, it has remained under their rule until the creation of modern Turkey was created.
Today, this province is a beautiful and fascinating tourist destination. Lake Abant is a peaceful location to take hikes and take photographs. Dotted around the region is both ancient and modern monuments that show the history and beliefs of the local populace.
