Corfu
Corfu is one of the most popular islands of Greece, which lies at the beginning of the Adriatic Sea. This mountainous island is the hub for a large amount of winter rain which leaves the island extremely lush and green for the rest of the year. Corfu’s capital is also named Corfu and is one of the prettiest cities in the Greek islands. It is officially known as “Kastropolis”, which translates to Castle City because it is situated between two castles. With its Byzantine churches, traditional Greek villages and of course its majestic castles, Corfu city’s old town is listed under UNESCO. Corfu is definitely an island to see if you are heading to Greece with its endless olive groves and vineyards, grand Cypress trees and incredible beaches.
