Datca
The
west end of the Datca Peninsula is where the Aegean and Mediterranean
seas meet. Beautiful Knidos harbour has
been welcoming vessels for
about 4000 years and
it remains a popular place for visitors. You can walk through the
remains of the town, described by the ancient historian Strabos as
''a threatre rising from the seashore''. While in Datca visit one of
the 52 bays along the 235km-long coastline and enjoy fresh seafood
cooked in the regional style, while breathing in air that was said in
antiquity to have health benefits. Make sure to sample the world-renowned Datca almonds.
