Halfeti

Modern Halfeti is the second iteration of the town after the Birecik Dam was built on the rising waters caused by parts of the village to become partially submerged. Some of the building was moved away from the rising waters, some of the larger building was not able to be moved and now act as a tourist attraction. Seeing minarets of submerged mosques and farmland extending out if the water is fascinating to view while walking around or sailing the new small lake.

The early village was set up as a settlement that was paired with Rumkale Fortress, while different groups joined and increase the quality and size. The town was fortified, with the support of the fortress it too 10 years to be conquered however this new control did not prevent the town from growing.
