Rustem Pasa Mosque

This small and out of the way mosque has the greatest collection of 16th century Iznik tiles arranged as a beautiful garden. It was designed by the Ottoman imperial architect Mimar Sinan for Grand Vizier Rustem Pasha, who was the husband of Princess Mihrimah, a daughter of Suleyman the Magnificent. The mosque was built after Rustem Pasha died in 1561. You will find it down a busy street near the Spice Bazaar. Inside is a garden paradise of coloured tiles.
